To get a clear answer to the question: “Is it worth spending money on female condoms?” Rutgers, the UAFC consortium partner on advocacy for female condoms, commissioned Global Health Visions LLC (GHV) to write a Business Case, with financial support from Equilibres et Populations.
GHV analysed the impact of four female condom programmes based on cost effectiveness models, health and economic impact modeling, and stakeholder interviews. Data from current female condom programmes by PSI affiliates in Cameroon, Nigeria, Myanmar and Kenya were used. The results are worth reading, and the case is clear: investment in female condoms is worthwhile!
We look forward to hear how you are using this Business Case as tool in your female condom advocacy.
